Anne has lived in Darwin for over 56 years and held various roles in the medical industry throughout that time. Anne trained as a nurse at the Princess Margaret Hospital and after meeting husband Alan travelled to London and Europe with their young family, for Alan’s medical training and work. After returning from London Anne started work with the Red Cross Blood transfusion service where she remained for 26 years – with 12 years as Sister in Charge. Anne and Alan Walker regularly fundraised for the charity until she retired. Ongoing charity work with the NT National Trust - Burnett House, auxiliary of Royal Darwin Hospital and University of the Third Age (a current Board Member), has provided significant experience for Anne in the NT charity sector. Anne has volunteered for Cancer Council NT – Daffodil Day for many years.
