Psychosocial management of AYAs diagnosed with cancer Clinical Guidelines

Clinical Oncology Society of Australia

This guidance has been produced by the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) as part of a national Youth Cancer Networks Program project funded by the Australian Government.

The guidance has been developed for general practitioners and other primary health professionals involved in the management of AYAs with cancer. It provides evidence-based recommendations and practice points to assist general practitioners:

  • recognise signs and symptoms that could be caused by cancer in AYA patients
  • make decisions about appropriate investigations
  • make a timely and appropriate referral of AYAs with suspected cancer.
