Supportive Care Worker

Cancer Council Tasmania

Devonport, TAS
Part-Time Position
 |
Applications close 16 September 2024

Cancer Council Tasmania (CCT) is the leading cancer charity in Tasmania working hard to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians.

More than 10 Tasmanians a day are receiving a cancer diagnosis. There will be 10 tomorrow, and 10 more the next day, including people we know and those close to us.

Cancer Council Tasmania is here for all Tasmanians who turn to us for support. Whether this is for one-on-one emotional support, group sessions, transporting people to treatment or providing financial support and complimentary therapies.

All of these supportive care services are provided free of charge state-wide to anyone who needs it, made possible through the generous financial support of the community. Our team’s aim is to respond to the needs of the community and work to identify opportunities where we can increase access to, and knowledge of, our services for those who need them - and we’re on the hunt for a new Supportive Care Worker to join us.

In a nutshell, this role involves being there for our clients – though supporting our Support Centre visitors with their cancer related concerns and issues; providing similar phone-based support; delivering our support and educational programs; and promoting and raising awareness of our services – understandably the role of Supportive Care Worker is a significant and rewarding community focused role.
